In the morning we started off with the cold front coming through with some lower cloud making for a grey sky. However, there was a small optimistic group ready to fly. The kit was brought out early to start cracking at the day’s flying list (Of only about 10 people).
K21 ready to launch (Joel Roulson) |
For the day, people had established the main hopes of soaring in the afternoon, catering to the trial flights, completing Shaun Dayman's BI assessment and some general instructing (There were more instructors than students).
Congratulations to Shaun Dayman Basic Instructor (Joel Roulson) |
Over the day, Shaun was signed off for Basic Instructor Rating by Simon Minson (RE) bar the final validation flight with our CFI. Some private glider owners pulled their aircraft up to the launch point and had some enjoyable flights and then later there was plenty of soaring with several flights over an hour including an extra-long flight from John Allan in his mini nimbus of 244 minute and James Flory (Solo) with 64 minutes.
