......the comp team declared the day a scrub based on the brisk cross wind.
In an Enterprising move, Trevor Stuart was dragged out to talk about soaring the Pandy Hill and beyond and soon a plan was hatched to get the turbo equipped gliders on to the hills. Trevor sportingly thermalled down and shepherded folks along ridges which were heavily chopped up by thermals.
DD3 with Phil and JP did several laps from Hay Bluff to Cwmbran with surprisingly many sweaty moments at The Blorange which refused to work reliably.
JB took a ride down in an Arcus he found lying around in a hanger and thermalled back for a gold star.
For a scrubbed day it was a blinder for the lucky few and Andrew McClusky’s “how I followed Trevor” story the highlight of Wednesday brief.
