Saturday 30th June
Hot, blue and late starting was the brief at 10:00 and so it turned out. Due to the forecast late start a modest task of 148km out and return to Banbury was set.
Thermals started about 14:30 so we launched and scratched around and then decided to just go and see what happened.
It was blue to just short of Banbury when a few Cu appeared - just as we turned round and had to leave to return!
To be fair,by then the thermals were pretty good and a stress free run home downwind ensued. Not a fast task speed due to the slow into wind leg., wind c.15kts.
Pete in 230 was 2nd for the day and Wyn a bit further down the field having to overcome significant technical problems.
Sunday 1st July
A short 100km task was set but with very little prospect of it realistically being soarable let alone a comp day Pete, Wyn and a couple of Nympsfield members opted to vist a model flying display that was quite spectacular. We even avoided the rain you had down in Devon. Hoping for better things tomorrow.
