After the exhileration of yesterdays late afternoon wave flight, we wondered what today would bring. The day started cloudy with the wind being North of East(070/20), which is exactly perpendicular to the Denbigh ridge so surely some thing must happen? A grid squat interspersed with tea and putting the world to rights ensued.
After lunch the sky started to clear with the first signs of some thermal activity. First to launch once the sky looked interesting enough was Eagle BBB with Matt and the G'uvnor(Nick Jones, having recovered from squidgate), towing under the first likely looking cloud that would be working and were seen rapidly climbing away under it and heading off along a nice looking street running South towards Ruthin. This triggered a frenzied grid launch which Jonathan in the Ikarus tug made short work of.

Within a very short space of time lines of cloud streets appeared running almost parallel to the ridge and looking for all the world like wave bars even with the the classic 'stonking' climb on the upwind leading edge, but they were moving with the wind, and pushing out into wind into the blue gap lead to lots of sink rather than the expected wave. However, under these 'streets' there were consistent climbs of 3-4 kts to over 4000'.
Flight of up to 3 hours were enjoyed with small runs out to Brennig reservoir and along the coast towards Colwyn Bay in fantastic visibility.
