All the forecasts for today seemed correct and resulted in a low turnout initially, by 10:30 though, we had enough bodies to get the kit out.
We
started with rain and low cloud, but by the time the kit was out, there
was a big improvement and we were soon soaring, even with the strong westerly wind, the ridge didn't seem to be working, - but the thermals were, and
very strong up to 4000ft.
Paul L flew the SF27 and Nigel his DG300, we had
three two-seaters out and a Junior and there were three Trial lesson
flights.
Everyone had
long soaring flights and and it was a very worthwhile day in spite of
the forecast. Many thanks to Paul C and Eric for helping out. - JSt
