Well done again Met Office for discouraging some of the Wednesday followers from turning up!
As
the heavy wind and rain was forecast to arrive at midday we rushed to
get as many flights in before we were rained off, John St & Mike
Fitz were first away again and had an easy hour on the ridge before
descending on airbrakes, as the day progressed there were good thermals
to 3,000ft.
At 1:00pm,
still no sign of rain Eric was persuaded to return to the winch (he had
stopped for a well- deserved break) we launched 3 more gliders who spent
the hour in the air whilst everyone else had lunch.
We
flew all day and every flight was a soaring flight, we welcomed new
member Dan, a local Head teacher whose previous club was Wittering, Dan has a Silver and he
had a nice introduction to our ridge from Peter Sm.

We
managed 19 flights with 12 hrs soaring, no private gliders flew today
- they didn't rig because of the forcast, the rain that was promised
finally arrived as we were putting the gliders away at 5:30pm. - JSt
