Thursday 9th April

The High pressure has been around for several days now, so warm, stable and poor visibility was a given. The Thursday regulars were joined by a large number of school half-termers who enjoyed their Thursday flying. The launch point was set up in the north west corner, and with the slack wind the launches were barely 1000ft - but in the haze disappeared from sight.

Circuits were all rather short until Gordon B found some lift on the point in the Junior and managed the longest flight of the day 32minutes - up to a very solid inversion at 2000ft. The lift escaped everybody else though and 4-6 minute circuits was the order of the day. Liam did some BI patter practice, and Lizzie completed her spin checks. But with 45 winch launches and 6 aerotows it was a busy day. Congratulations to Michael Harris a new member from Weston on the Green who soloed K21 after coming back to gliding after a little layoff. - J&P
