Well, after the night out at the Keepers Cottage ( lovely dinner again - thanks) the Course members were raring to go flying early today. Just as well, as the wind was forecast to steadily increase during the day to a gusty south easterly. The south easterly wind assisted the south ridge and set up some weak wave behind Hembury Hill extending the flights but contributing to the exciting approaches.
After a nasty rope break that left the helpers and course members chasing rope in the marshland of the former wood, and then a further weak link break, John and Guy decided that they would return the gliders to the shelter of the hangar at lunchtime.
So a slightly abrupt end to flying for the week, but all the members enjoyed the Course and made some real progress, Paul and Mike towards solo, and new members Steve, Terry and Geoff in learning the skills of gliding- we hope to see them again during their 3 months temporary membership.
