There was some hope that there could be some flying in the afternoon after the morning frontal rain had passed through.

So the morning was spent entertaining the Cullompton Scout Group, the Cubs, Scouts and Explorers walked in 2 small groups across from their camp at Forest Glade in the rain and drizzle. Pete Harmer briefed them for the Aeronautics badge before a tour of the hangar, and winch, with some trying out a glider for size.

Well done to the members who persevered through the rain to change one of the winch ropes, Teams Hender and Batchelor, with James Flory and Stirling Melhuish.

The other cable to be done when we get some more rope next week. Dave Perriam cut some more grass and then washed the grass-cutter in the rain. - The front dragged its feet with low orographic cloud so unfortunately afternoon flying was cancelled. - J&P
