Wed 7th October

A reasonable forecast and a northwesterly wind saw a good collection of Wednesday regulars and a collection of hopefuls, it was obviously going to be a busy day.
The two K21s and the Perkoz, plus the two Juniors were soon at the launch point with much enthusiasm we had set up for a Westerly cable run.

With Glenn Turpin still languishing in the Greek islands sheltering from the gale force winds, the instructing was led by John Sillett assisted by John Street and Pete Warren.

Tom Sides flying Junior (David Clements)

From the start of flying we were all getting good 1,600ft launches and with the absence of sink and a little help from the West ridge we enjoyed good long flights from the first launch.
Pete Startup, Eric Alston and Andrew Logan flew their own gliders and all achieved flights of about 2hrs with help of some handy midday thermals, Chris Warnes (as usual) had the longest flight in a club glider of just under an hour.

John Street and Nick Harrison (David Clements)

Well done to Josh Funnell for converting to the Perkoz, Tim Butler converting to Junior and Sandy Harrop for completing  her red card checks between showers at the end of the day, everyone flew on what was a very good day for mid-October. - John Street.
