Course flying
Asking for soaring conditions seemed to work!
Asking for soaring conditions seemed to work!
Day three had the now
standard 90 degree crosswind, an early change of ends set us up with an
extra 200ft to use.
Conditions then became thermic with flights to
cloudbase.
Roly used the other Junior for a aerotow behind the returned to service Pawnee, to show us the way we should be using the better conditions. Some
of the course members also got some aerotow experience while gaining the height
needed for spinning checks.
Thanks to Tim for being the pivot around
which the ground team have been rotating their attendance days. Half
hour flights achieved, card boxes checked, list still to do getting
shorter, looking forward to Thursday! - Gordon Hutchinson
Club flying
At last some flyable
mid-week weather, with the course in full swing and a lot of members
away on expeditions at Portmoak and The Mynd a quiet day for the
Wednesday crew.
The
wind was playing tricks again managing to be a tail wind at each end of
the field so the launches were not as high as we would have liked.
The
soaring was quite good in the morning, although quite difficult with a lot
of wave induced sink about.
