The forecast suggested interesting winter wind conditions but with this brought a high probability of the field being engulfed by cloud, unfortunately today the forecast was spot on. This didn't deter a large number of people keen to get to the club to discuss the different motions put forward for the AGM, drink copious amounts of tea and undertake various chores around the airfield. One thing was for sure, no matter how big your clubhouse is or how many backup winches you have the only flying to be done today was in another valuable club asset, the simulator.
Paul Kane worked on the simulator making some finishing touches and setting up the head tracking system to give an even greater sense of immersion when flying. H5 Matt claimed that he was helping but it looked an awful lot like trying to relive the flight from earlier on in the week on the South Downs.
Alan Turner & helpers continued to make excellent progress in the MT workshop, lots of new cabinets have gone in and the floor has been prepped ready for painting.
At the other end of the club a team of members helped to clear the overgrowth at the north western entrance to the club, Peter Smith just so happened to have a chainsaw with him which was ideally suited to the task. Stirling and Nick Jones managed to get the gate open and treated the lock/hinges to a good dousing of WD40 and grease,

once free James and Matthew exercised the Club's right to access through the gate and down to the road towards Forest Glade, if really required you'd now be able to get a trailer in through this route.
An excellent fun day at the Club considering that there was no flying. - H5 Matt.
